05/12/2021

New York, USA, May 12, 2021 – After an incredibly successful unveiling of its 2021 Power List featuring the top 100 women in ophthalmology, The Ophthalmologist invited those ranked highest by the independent Power List judging panel to join a roundtable discussion so they could share their inspirational career stories, strategies for success, and lessons learned along the way.

Aleksandra Jones, Editor of The Ophthalmologist, says, “These powerful women hold some of the most important positions at leading eye hospitals and institutes, have won multiple awards, and are universally known and respected across the field. I’m very proud to share this brilliant and engaging discussion with our readers!”

The panel of five leading ophthalmic experts provided insights into the experiences that have led them to the key positions they now hold, from the early years of their lives, through university, medical school, and residency, to later stages of their successful careers. They spoke about the ups and downs of their professional journeys, as well as lessons learned as they progressed to the top, including childhood inspirations and important teachers, mentors, colleagues, and family. They also offered advice to ophthalmologists at the start of their workplace journeys, encouraging them to take full advantage of any opportunities presented to them. All ophthalmology and vision science professionals will have something to learn from these leading experts.

Recorded in April 2021, the roundtable discussion “The Ophthalmologist Power List: The Path to Success” is available for free to watch here
